Mountune’s much-loved Cars and Coffee morning was back on the calendar for 2017. After missing the event in 2016, mountune decided to combine the open day-style meet with the launch of their all-new mountune-hub – a stylish new show room for customers to relax in while they wait for the mountune engineers to fettle with their Ford. Inside, there’s a selection of the latest mountune products to hit the market, some display engines to get up close and personal with, loads of goodies and branded merchandise to purchase, and even a couple of nice comfy leather sofas and a retro-style Nintendo games console where customers can chill to the max while having their upgrades fitted!
To showcase the Hub to the masses, mountune decided to combine it’s great unveiling with one of their already well-attended Cars and Coffee mornings. Previous meets have seen the car park filled to bursting with finely fettled fast Fords, but not even the mountune staff could have expected the huge turnout from this year’s event! We arrived at 8:30am – a full 30 minutes before the scheduled start time! – and the car park was already overflowing. By the time the doors officially opened 9:00am there were Blue Ovals parked everywhere! All the surrounding units, their car parks, the side of the road, and in some cases even on the footpaths!
Once inside you could see what all the fuss was about. As well as the launch of the new Hub there was plenty going on inside HQ; the latest mountune demo cars were on display – including the M380 Focus RS, the MR265 Fiesta, the M335 Mustang, and the eagerly awaited big-turbo MR410 Focus ST! – alongside a classic Ford GT, Motorbase’s Team Shredded Wheat Racing with Duo Focus BTCC car, and, of course, Henry’s coffee bar was on hand to keep everyone fully refreshed too! On top of all this there were some fantastic bargains and exclusive deals on various mountune products too – you could even have certain upgrades fitted on the day to enjoy on the drive home too!
Among the crowds and hundreds of top-notch Blue Ovals on show – which included everything from classic Mk1 Fiestas through to the very latest Mustangs, and more Mk3 Focus RSs than we’ve ever seen in one place before! – you could find some truly stunning fast Fords, naturally with most boasting at least one or two tuning products from the hosts!
Everyone we spoke to on the day thoroughly enjoyed the meet, and its popularity definitely backs that up with people having travelled from all over the UK just to attend. Based on the huge success of this year’s event we’re sure mountune will be back at it again next year, although if it continues to grow at this pace a bigger venue may be needed!
