Newbie Looking for help to make a decision...

Alright lads I've been out of the ford scene for a while now but I used to drive a standard mk 5 Fiesta zs and I absolutely loved her. However I've always really liked the S2 RS Turbo particularly in black or red. I was thinking of getting one as a restoration project, at first and maybe tuning her up a lil in the future, so my question is this. Are they difficult cars to restore/modify? I am a welder by trade and have a decent although not extensive knowledge of engines. Money is obviously an issue, I dont mind spending a bit of cash but I'm not into throwing good money after bad.

Any help/information would be really appreciated and if I do decide to proceed I will of course update with progress and photos.
