Default escort crank shaft

Hello everybody on here, I need some help on getting some info on cvh crank shafts. I am currently building a 1.6 cvh turbo engine for my mk4 escort RS turbo (the original cannot be saved) the trouble is the new engine came to me only as a block with pistons, crank and flywheel, all of the other parts have been sourced appart from the oil pump and this is where it gets confusing, the drive for the oil pump (on crank) is approximately a third of the size of that on the old engine and consequently that type of oil pump will not work. I have been in touch with my local Ford dealership but all they could tell me that the block I am using was made in November 1995 (Fiesta RST?) Any info on this would be appreciated
Thanks

there are 2 types of oil crank and 2 corresponding oil pumps for the CVH engines. I think the changeover year was around 87 but don't quote me on that, but if yours in 95 block and crank you'll definately want the later oil pump. Burton's sell them for around £70, fit that and you're away again :-)
