Update on our Fiesta ST (295)

We’ve been debating fitting a set of silicone hoses to the Fiesta for a little while, but knowing that it can be a pig of a job, we kind of put it off.

But after a chat with the ever-helpful Rhian from Samco we ordered a set of coolant and ancillary hoses. The coolant kit costs £153.66, and included seven hoses, and the ancillary kit costs £59.74 and comes with four hoses. Samco also sells corresponding hose clips that come in at £22.25 and £11.23 respectively.

With all the required hoses removed and laid side-by-side with the Samcos we set about replacing them. One hose was in one piece on our car, but came in two pieces in the kit (presumably the hoses changed during the Fiesta’s production). But it could be easily remedied with a hose joiner, which we’ll source the next time the car is down at the workshop.

The day before we took these pics Dan noticed that one of the jacking point covers had decided to go walkies! So it looks like we’ll be on the blower to fordpartplus.net for a replacement part.

The ST does seem to have a habit of shedding parts but we’ll soon have it looking as good as new. We’ve also got an idea about more engine mods, but you’ll have to wait to find out what we’re planning!

Thanks
