Update on our Fiesta ST (293)

The Fiesta has to cart us all over the country to photoshoots, shows, and events. To be fair to it, the ST has lapped it up and hasn’t missed a beat. With the modifications we’ve made already it is a really fun, capable beast, guaranteed to bring a smile to our faces. The only criticism we had was that on long journeys the standard ST seats were a little too hard. Not only that but when the mood did take us to go for a more spirited drive, they didn’t offer that much support either.

After sitting in the new Focus RS we found the answer – the Sportster CS. We headed to Brentwood to see the Mountune boys and get the new seats bolted in place. With the difficult job of fabricating custom runners already sorted fitting the new seats was a simple job of unbolting the old ones and slotting in the new ones.

They’re not cheap at £1675 a pair, but what a difference they make! Not only do they look the dog’s dangly bits with the Ambla leather and Dynamica suede centre, the sculptured design really hugs your back and sides and is incredibly snug. With the show season now in full swing the timing for the new seats couldn’t have been better. The ST will be even more of a joy to drive now!

The only other thing the Fiesta needs now (apart from some uprated stoppers) is a good service. The tuning package puts extra strain on the engine so it makes sense to take precautions with the servicing and oil changes. As the car’s clocked over 20K miles we’ll be heading over www.fordpartsplus.net to order the required goodies and will have the car all serviced and running sweetly once again.

Thanks
